When a member posts a Classified, it should be sent out to the rest of the members via an Email Alert.

Is this ever going to be implemented? I see blog posts about driving website engagement from residents, yet when given a suggestion to do that via classified ad notification, the request sits in a "considering" stage for years on end. Either implement it or let us move on to another platform please.
Meredith Owens
Scott Crowell: While this feature request has been open for several years, the amount of time it's been opened doesn’t correlate with whether our team is still considering implementing it or not. Several factors come into play when deciding which feature requests to develop and when. You can read more about how we approach this here: How feedback change requests and suggestions are handled.
Over the last several years, our product team's goal has been to finish developing our next gen front ends using new cutting-edge technology and design. We’ve prioritized this because improving the front ends considerably allows us to release new features faster.
We're wrapping up our final project, which is modernizing the community websites. This will need to be completed before we can work on this request.
Since your vote has been added here, you'll be notified when we update its status!

Has there been any further discussion to add instant notifications for Classifieds? Or upgrade and add pages for notifications in Settings to opt-in/out of Classified, Forums, etc? Also, adding the ability to post more than one photo per classified?
Meredith Owens
Jenn Holtkamp: If this capability is developed, members will have the ability to update their contact preferences to receive these notifications. As for adding more than one image to a classified listing, that's a separate request we're considering here: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/include-markdown-editor-on-classifieds-page
I've also added your vote to that post, so you'll be notified when we update its status!
While we're still considering both requests, we haven't set a timeframe yet. Our product team's current priority is finishing our ext-gen front ends, which we're in the last stage of developing! Those will need to be completed before we can develop this type of capability on our platform.

Having immediate notification to administrators of our webpage allows us to keep our website relevant to our members. Without nearly immediate response by our administrator means the website posts we are providing are not relevant to us... with everything that is pulling for the attention of our members in this world (social media, tv, family, etc...) moving higher on the list of our members with the first and cutting edge postings to our website is our aim. Will you please help us to achieve that aim? Then we will both win.
Mark Eliason
Agreed. There should be a list of notifications that only the site administrator(s) receive to alert to all new posts by member (to make curating easier without flooding all of the members).

I'd really like this instant notification. Waiting a week to see if anyone is interested just doesn't work for us.

Has there been any discussion to change the notification timing of items posted in Classifieds. Currently our residents have to wait for weekly "What's Happening Announcements" to know that someone has posted an item in Classifieds. Having to wait a week for someone to see that you have posted an item does not promote resident involvement. I know that the discussion to change the forum topic notification default from a negative to a positive has been closed. Is there anything a resident can post that can be seen immediately? I have tried and tried to inform residents to correct the negative default for forum topics. They simply don't understand that they have been blocked from seeing these notifications. If people don't want to participate in the community they should have to choose to block any communications, that would be a one time block, as opposed to administrators struggling to explain the software to residents that have no idea how your software works. Only 20% of our residents have changed their forum topic notifications, while 75% participate in a Face Book discussion group that the Board has no control over.

Lindy Peters: We are considering adding the ability for notification emails to be sent out when a new classified listing is posted. Members could then be notified of those postings ahead of when the What's Happening emails are sent. This is the post where we're gathering feedback from admins on how they would like to see this implemented.
To answer your question, instant email notifications will currently only be sent out for activity on a "Forum" page or if a resident sends an alert from a "Resident Alerts" page. Our What's Happening emails are designed to summarize new content on the website in a way that doesn't overwhelm residents with too many emails. For this reason, we don't plan to send separate notifications about each new piece of content posted to the website.
In regards to the default contact preferences, I'm afraid we don't have plans to change these. To view our reasons why I'd recommend visiting this post: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/set-default-contact-preferences.

Meredith Owens: PLEASE do this!! It is so inconvenient to wait for the What's Happening email. And the result is that I have to send individual emails to everyone if there is something that needs to be seen more timely than a week later. Is there ANY other way to get something sent immediately upon posting???
Meredith Owens
Leslie Snyder: The current only other option would be to use a "Forum" page. With this page type, members can opt-in to receive immediate email notifications when there's a new topic or comment.

I agree, our blast is monthly and I believe anytime a member posts in the classifieds that it should immediately get sent to other members as an alert...

Yes, I would like to see a change made so the board of directors receives an immediate e-mail when there is a new posting so we can monitor content.

Please change Classifieds to be an instant notification. Waiting a week for an alert does not promote community involvement and sharing information with each other.
