Export form submission history
Meredith Owens
Provide the ability to export the content from submitted forms into a spreadsheet.
There are a couple of challenges with this to take into consideration. We’ve listed those below:
- The forms have the ability to change and be updated over time. If the labeling and wording were to change on the form, it could make the export process complex.
- With the “Custom Form” page type, you have the ability to include an “upload file” form element. Those files couldn't be exported since there isn’t a way to place a file inside of a spreadsheet. Therefore, any uploaded files would be excluded from the export of the form submission.

This would allow a community to easily outsource their ARC submittals, etc without having to having to do a lot of manual work. Being able to export an item with all its attachments would be helpful for many functions an HOA does. We would like to see the possibility of being able to export to a website directly as well in addition to just being able to send an email.

Hello. Exporting a custom form with all its elements would be an excellent option. It would be a very big help to us in managing residents comments, complaints and general queries. For us, the best format would be in an excel format. I hope your team will review and offer this option. Thank you.

You have 86 users (actually communities) waiting more than 2 years for this feature to be added. Are you going to add the feature or not. It is not a difficult assignment, you can design a form with perhaps 4 fields that download into the spreadsheet and the Community can title the 4 fields as necessary.

Adam Brozzetti: While we don’t have an estimated timeframe yet for this feature request, I can assure you our team is still looking into implementing this feature in the future!
Currently, our product team's primary focus is finishing our next gen front ends, which, among many other benefits, will help us develop feature requests like this one more quickly! You can read more about those in the following article: https://blog.hoa-express.com/hello-next-gen-front-ends/.
In the meantime, your vote has been added to this post, so once our team updates its status, you’ll be notified via email.

This is a strong need for our community. We have to cross reference annual form submissions with payments and theres no way to do it with any level of automation or to ensure data integrity. If we could export a form history (even if its minimal data) that would be a huge benefit.

I vote strongle for this. Other HOA packages even offer basic workflow for forms processing. Being able to see status on form requests is an important feature as well.

Scott Crowell: The ability to track the status of a request submitted via form falls under resident/community management software, which we have a separate open feature request for! Therefore, I would recommend adding your vote to the following post, as well: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/residentcommunity-management-software

Excellent idea. We use a custom form for the unit owners to submit work order requests. Exporting these requests into a spreadsheet would let us manage and track the requests.

This would be great - we need to be able to download any responses into an excel spreadsheet

When I was on our Architectural Committee, I copied the form's data sent to my email into a spreadsheet, ran a macro to convert from vertical to horizontal format, imported the result back into the Adobe Acrobat PDF form, approved it digitally and emailed the approved form to the resident. Over-engineered yes, but no paper was involved and the whole process took just a few minutes.

We use Microsoft Forms and Google Forms because of their ability to export to a spreadsheet.
