Support Zelle

Frankly, the fees are absurd for online payments. I get ACH's free from my bank along with Zelle, which is free. We'd love to use the feature, but even 1.2% is ridiculous.
I know that you are at the mercy of providers but is there a way that you could support a Zelle setup? I guess an HOA could just set up an email account on your system and sign it up for Zelle, but maybe there is a way to do it through the web site.
Anyway, very happy with the product.

I'm afraid we don’t have plans to integrate Zelle with our online payments platform. However, you're more than welcome to use this payments system and link to it on your website! Creating a custom email account for this purpose through the "Email Accounts" section could be a beneficial way to set this up, too. Also, if you go this route, your community will need to provide instructions to your members on how to send money via Zelle.
As far as the transaction fees for our online payments feature, we do our best to offer competitive rates, including negotiating for volume discounts. Compared to other popular payment processors, the transaction fees through our payment processing partner, Stripe, are quite good.
For instance, PayPal Checkout is 3.49% + $0.49 USD (for both cards and bank accounts), which is more than the fees you'd find on our platform.
Even still, we understand if you'd prefer to use an outside payment processing system, which you can redirect members to from your website. If you need assistance doing this, please reach out to our customer success team! https://help.hoa-express.com/en/articles/2390052-contact-our-customer-success-team

I was going to set up online payments next week with our treasurer, but now I’m having second thoughts! No one will pay high fees these days. Waste of time?

Tonyia Downs: To help you decide whether or not this feature will work for your community, I've linked to an article that explains the transaction fees associated with the online payments feature here: https://help.hoa-express.com/en/articles/2343369-about-online-payment-fees.

Yes,we only had 6% of owners use the web pay system...this begs for improvement.

I agree we need a better pay sysownertem. The high fees are killing my owners particiowner'spation. Not to mention how long it takes to get the money into the account.

Both Zelle and Venmo are cheaper, quicker, and easier options to the HOA Express online payments portal. However, those options are available to our HOAs without need to use the HOA Express hosted website. Any HOA who has an account at a bank that partners with Zelle, can set up their HOA to receive payments in this fashion. Any HOA member that has an account with a bank using Zelle is eligible to send money this way. All the member needs is the HOA's email address to setup the first payment by Zelle. After that, the linkage is in your online banking and you merely send payment instructions each period. Our HOA currently uses the HOA Express portal, but is starting the process of adding Zelle, and considering Venmo as well.

Great idea. I bet I can get more residents to use this online payment service if it were not because of the high fees. Zelle or Venmo would be a welcome option.

Or Venmo. The fees are vestigial of the bank credit era. As a forward looking company, HOAExpress might embrace this idea for your not-for-profit customers.
