Static phone number for communities when sending text messages
complete
Wes Cossick
Currently, text messages are sent using a large pool of phone numbers. Therefore, members will usually receive text messages from a different phone number each time a blast text is sent out.
With the new pricing we announced, one of the benefits is that it'll allow us to develop functionality where we can assign individual phone numbers to communities, so that blast text messages come from the same phone number each time.

Static phone numbers will now be used for blast text messages! Learn how this feature works in our new help article.

An update on our progress: our engineering team mostly completed this feature a few weeks ago, and we’re now just waiting on regulatory approval to use the new phone numbers we acquired to power this feature. The verification process is taking longer than expected, likely due to higher-than-normal demand on the phone carriers’ end.

Great Feature. When will this start and will we have to request the feature?

Donna Kyle: While we don't have a timeframe set for developing this post yet, I know it's something our product team is still looking to implement!

You have my vote for this. It will ensure they won't get filtered out as Unknown.

Yes please! This would be so helpful in allowing people to save the contact and to not have the text messages go into the “unknown” senders list which is automatically filtered on iOS devices. Additionally, if it were possible for recipients of a test blast to the community were able to reply to that dedicated number and then two way communication could ensue that would be great for additional features like text surveys and potential safety alerts for the neighborhood/community.
