Reduce the likelihood of couples signing up as one individual

Currently we are having issues with many long term couples registering together (Bob and Mary Smith) and then not having separate contact info for each. A problem with committee membership, etc. Please consider making this process more clear on the initial registration page (warn members to just use one first name, save, and add the additional name after.)

Not being able to edit members is almost a deal breaker for us. We were not told clearly that you had to separate the owners and now they are telling us we have to delete and re-import. Not very intuitive.

The issue happened when we imported the names because the accounts were not listed separately. Now we are having issues because the owners want us to change the names and add the spouse for them. If we could go in and change this as an administrator, we could solve this problem in a matter of minutes. Now you guys are saying we have to delete the member entirely and re-enter after they have created a password. This stinks as far as I am concerned.

Renata Circeo-Loudon: On the "Import" page, we provide instructions for how to use this tool, and clearly state that there should only be one member added per line (shown below). When the members are imported, we'll place those with the same account type and physical address into the same account.
Administrators are not able to update the names and contact information of full joint members for the reasons listed in this article: https://help.hoa-express.com/members-and-accounts/members/admins-updating-member-and-account-information.
The members themselves are able to log into the website and update this. Otherwise, if you'd like to change this as an administrator, we recommend removing their account and then re-importing them the correct way.

A warning now appears whenever we detect what looks like someone registering two or more people as a single member.

Looking through recent registrations, it appears this is occurring for about 1% of new registrations. It's pretty easy to detect because the first name usually contains an ampersand (&), a slash (/ or \), or the word "and." Our product team will investigate ways to mitigate this problem.

Our issue is similar, but the end result is not exactly the same, because we use the RSVP function every month. The current registration method does not work for a couple when both are active in the community, but you only recognize the owner. We have several couples that use the same email, but then only one is considered a full member and the other cannot be considered as a full member. This is really an issue when we RSVP for a community event. We cannot send an email to Males because some of them do not receive if the wife is listed first. The same is true for females. When Gary wants to RSVP for the Men's Breakfast, it is listed as Arlene - because she is the one who set up the account. And then, the RSVP account understates when both are planning to attend, but it is only recorded as one person. We love the RSVP function because it allows us to control the food at our monthly potlucks. I hope the RSVP does not go away!!

Registration is unclear. You can register and then list your spouse; however this requires using the same password. It is also awkward when a spouse has a different last name. We have suggested that people each register separately.

We have this issue too and then they are not able to change it. Most likely because they are not computer savvy.
