Public discussion forum for community leaders
Meredith Owens
Create a place where community leaders—like board members, committee members, and volunteers—from any community can ask questions, share thoughts, and solicit advice from leaders in other communities. This would serve as a way to share knowledge and help people strengthen their own community by learning from other communities.

Would like to see the forum for associations implemented. There’s lot to discuss.

Meredith, are you still looking at creating this?
Meredith Owens
Judi Becker: Yes, we are! We've currently been reviewing some different options for this, and are still gathering some feedback from our users on how they'd like this to work. If you have any suggestions, please let us know!

Meredith Owens: I would like to have a forum where the community can ask questions of specific people and have those people reply. For example, an Ask the Candidate forum where I can ask a question of a candidate running for the board and have the candidate answer. I would like to approve posting of the questions/responses before they’re live. I want the forum to be respectful.

Judi Becker: Thank you for sharing this! What you've described is a bit different than this feature request, which would be more focused on connecting with different communities. For what you'd like to do, I think the current "Forum" page with the addition of the open request we have to allow admins to approve new forum topics and comments would meet this need.
If you'd like to view that request and add your vote and comment, you can do so here: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/admin/board/feature-requests/p/approvals-for-new-forum-posts.

When I scan through Feature Requests I find myself repeatedly on the same wave-length with the same other Admins, who i considered have a deeper understanding of website design, systems design and website administration, as well as a deep understanding of how HOA communities function. Feature Requests is a terrific service.....one of the strengths of HOA-E. I believe HOA-E could benefit from hearing from a group of Admins who are capable of providing more comprehensive suggestions, rather than everything being treated as a one-off.

Bernie Gleason: The feedback portal is our way of collecting feedback from all of our customers in a fair and transparent manner. Therefore, we don't have plans to limit who is able to provide their feedback. We really appreciate all of the feedback you've provided us with through this portal, so we encourage you to continue posting in here!

Wes Cossick - I know it might seem a little scary to allow this right now for fear of the inmates running the asylum. But a community will help you in the long run. Canny is fine for feature requests but it is not ideal as a conversation platform where your customers can debate merits, tweak, play and help each other.
Just bite the bullet and launch a Discourse. I'm sure there are a few of us around here that would be happy to help you moderate as I know the staff pressure you think this will create.
please, Please, PLEASE!

Great idea. I've done that manually by going to other communities, specifically to find out what vendors they used to put in bocce ball courts. It would be so much easier to send an email or text.

Create/sanction HOA Express User Group for admins
Barry Elk
Give us a HUG! (HOA Express Users Group) where Admins can interact, show off their sites, share best practices and generally discuss HOA electronic management. If HOA Express staff do not want to manage/moderate, then sanction the creation of a user group through Google Groups or another forum hosting platform.
