Pin news article to top of page
Maria Marstaller
On News & announcements there should be a way to Pin an item to the top of the page as our board is wanting to use a second News & announcements page as a message board. This way our President could put a welcome at the top of the message board instead of it dropping down.

I agree! I prefer a time-sensitive news article to appear at the top of the list, such as announcing Board nominations for an upcoming annual meeting. I
was referred to this feedback page, but am disappointed that there is not a more recent post for an update.

Bonnie Clements: This is still a feature we're considering! We've been prioritizing developing our next gen front ends and are in the final stage of the project. Once we've finished developing the community website front ends, we'll be able to look closer at how to best develop this functionality on the "News articles" page.
While we don’t have a set timeframe for developing this particular feature request yet, since your vote has been added to the post, you’ll be notified via email when we update its status!

Meredith Owens: Thanks for your reply. I also have another request about the articles that appear in the News Articles. I find that when the dates are 3 years old, people tend to ignore; however, the content is still current. The only way I've been able to change the date is to completely delete and recreate. It would be nice to change the date without starting over.

Bonnie Clements: Thanks for sharing this feedback! We have a separate open feature request to add that capability, which we're considering.
I've added your vote there, as well: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/edit-news-articles-published-date

Merged in a post:
"Sticky" news articles
Rob Hanssen
In News items: when a news message needs to be current for a longer time (announcement for elections, announcement for assessments due, etc.), can these message be declared "sticky", kept at the top of the news and be included in the What's Happening emails until the message is "unstuck"?
Gina Arasin
This would be helpful, if it also appeared each week in the what’s happening email.
Meredith Owens
Gina Arasin: I'm afraid the What's Happening email is designed to only pull new content added to the "News Articles" page. Therefore, an older pinned news article wouldn't be included in that type of email.
Michael Tripp
I agree. We recently had a News article which was being treated as a frequently updating story. Having the ability to keep it top of page would be beneficial.
Ross Simpson
I like this idea too. The other option would be to have an editable text field at the top of a News page (kind of like the one at the top of the other pages). That way it is at the top, and the "news" posts would collect underneath.
Robert Mclane
Great idea. Or something like the "sticky posts" you see on internet forums.
Rob Hanssen
I was about to post something similar:
During our board election season, I'd like to have the same message appear in the news sections and in the the weekly emails, without having to re-post it every week.
Jamie Kinn
Rob Hanssen: I absolutely second this idea!
