Include new pages in weekly What's Happening

It appears that right now only documents added to a "Documents" page will be announced on the What's Happening. We also, from time to time, add new pages or single documents of importance, and would like those announced on What's Happening also.

in addition, we need the ability to decide which pages go into "What's Happening?" (including General Text pages), as well as which pages should not be included in "What's Happening?"

Alan Pensak: If you'd like to have the option for certain content not to be included in the What's Happening emails, we have separate posts for each of those requests! I agree with Adrienne Kinney, it would be nice to have an option to flag a newly created page (interactive and non-interactive) for the next What's Happening notification

Great idea. Should be selectable either to show or not show when the page is created. I think any new page would be of interest to all members. Let the member decide whether or not to view it.

I think allowing the administrator to select the pages that might be of interest to the community makes sense. Our financial documents are posted each month but many people don't see them. I'd love to be able to flag them for any who are interested.
Adrienne Kinney
Suppose that new page is only relevant to a small number of residents, or is a correction of some kind? You don't necessarily want to call attention to every new page that goes up. Some are better handled discreetly.
If you want a way to flag a new page for consideration in an email, that might be helpful. But not automatically including.

Adrienne Kinney: I agree with Adrienne - allow a new page to be optionally flagged or write a separate What's New article to highlight it. It gives you more control over what's included in communications.

Adrienne Kinney: I agree with Adrienne, have the option to select the pages that go out in What's Happening. Sometimes when everything goes out readers don't bother to look at them. Better to highlight the important ones.

I agree. I asked for this a long time ago but haven't heard much about it. It doesn't make much sense [to me] to post something on all of these interactive pages, i.e. a garage sale or classified ad, for example, without it being included in "What's Happening." After all, some of those items ARE what's happening. :)
Meredith Owens
Evelyn Moist: To clarify, if new content has been added to an interactive page (e.g., Classifieds, Recipes, Forum) since the last What's Happening email, that will be included in an upcoming one. You can view a full list of content that could possibly be included in this type of email here: https://help.hoa-express.com/en/articles/2347432-about-what-s-happening-emails.

Meredith Owens: This must be new because we've had homeowners add info to interactive pages that have never been picked up by "What's Happening."

Meredith Owens: P.S. I just checked your link, and "garage sales" are not included in the list, which means that "What's Happening" doesn't pick up ALL the interactive pages, which I would respectfully request that it did.
Meredith Owens
Evelyn Moist: We have a separate post open for this request, which I've added your vote to. This way, you'll be notified whenever we update its status. You can view that post here: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/add-garage-sales-to-whats-happening-email.

Evelyn Moist: Our Forum of interactive pages, i.e. lost and found, social, for sale etc. get picked up and listed in every What's Hapenning.

Linda Cahoon: Hi Linda,
Yes, I am aware that SOME of the interactive pages get picked up with "What's Happening," as I mentioned to Meredith.
My example to Meredith was "garage sales," for one. One of our homeowners posted information about a garage sale, but it was not made known with the What's Happening newsletter, so I had to send a separate email blast, specifically for that garage sale. If the homeowner had not said something to me, it would have just gone by, completely unnoticed by the community.
If you can't set it up for all of the interactive pages to get picked up with the What's Happening newsletter, I would request, then, that we (Admins) should be able to decide which pages get picked up with the newsletter.
The Admins could select (and unselect, if necessary) which pages get picked up by the newsletter at the time that we set up the initial interactive pages. Food for thought. Thanks.

Evelyn Moist: I would like nothing better than having the admins be able to select which pages get picked up in the newsletter.

I am not in favor of this. The list is at the bottom of the What's Happening and an viewer can choose documents of their interest.

Great idea. How can we add a page in What’s Happening as well. Ie Items For Sale
