Add a FAQ page type to the list of available page type options.
Not to rush you, but any update on the status of this. ETA? Just wondering. I think this would be quite helpful. Thank you
@Chris McConnell: Thanks for checking in! We're still collecting feedback from others using our service as we consider how to best implement this. While we don't have an estimated timeframe for when this will be released, we'll update the status of this post when we start working on it, and you'll be notified via email.
Once a Feature request is updated to "Planned", is there any way to get an indication as to when it might get to "In Progess" or "Completed"?
I believe the approach recommended by Joseph Fry looks very viable and our HOA is coming up to significant government legistlative changes that need to be explained to our membership and such a feature would be of tremendous benefit to us.
@Greg Jonassen: I'm afraid there isn't a way to be notified ahead of when a request is going to change status. However, we appreciate you letting us know how this feature would benefit your community! We take into account the importance of a feature to communities when prioritizing them.
Our product team is currently investing time in developing the next generation of our front end interface. They'll continue to do so over the coming weeks and months. Therefore, this will draw some of their attention away from releasing noticeable updates as quickly.
@Wes Cossick Hi Wes, I know you're currently working on this, but the FAQ example that Joseph Fry mentioned below would work perfectly. It's easy to understand how to use. It's clean and even our older (and some younger) non-computer literate residents would be able to understand the + or - signs.
Three important items I hope you are considering including: 1) staying on the page is a must. The sliding in of the answer without leaving the page makes the user experience so much better. No clicking the back button or tabs to try to figure out where you are. 2) the ability to group into sections with titles is also a must. The worst FAQ pages are ones that are just links to the bottom of a page with no order. And 3) Search capability, similar to the directory where starting typing brings up the word (if possible)
We plan to have sections on the Covenants, Rules, ARC, Landscaping, Who to call, etc.
I'm not sure we'd want or encourage comments or the ability to mark as inaccurate. However, others may want that. If you add it, maybe it can be a toggle on or off set by the Administrator.
Thanks for doing this.
FAQs answers can require more than a short answer. Some add clarification to confusing CC&R provisions or they may explain an HOA process in steps.
While a general text page works for FAQ... there are more interactive solutions that would be nice... especially for long FAQs. For example something like this would be awesome:
You can categorize the questions. The answers are collapsed. They allow comments. And I would add the ability to search, and the ability for a user to mark an answer as "inaccurate" so that the admins can review the and correct any flagged answers.
NOTE: This is a nice-to-have feature, but hardly the most valuable feature request I have seen.
Would like to see someone who up-voted this explain the features they are looking for. Unless I'm missing something, this is easily accomplished with a GENERAL TEXT page and just type it out with numbered lists:
1) Q: Why can't I get into the clubhouse? A: Only paid members have access to the 24/7 door code. Please contact us if you think you should have the code....
(Making my comment b/c this one is rising in votes and I really don't understand why.)
