Edit news article’s “published” date

We recently transferred our (hosted elsewhere) website to HOA Express. Part of our website was a history of news and information articles. We used the "news articles" page/template which was generally OK - however there is no way to specify/edit the post date and so we lost the date history for all the postings. Had to go back and add the original post date back into all the article titles which makes them longer and more messy. Would be nice if the admin could edit the post dates in that page template.

We’re setting up a new website and will use “news articles” for the “President’s Message.” However, we’d also like to include prior messages along with their original publish date, so being able to edit post dates would be ideal.

I like Jamie's comment - it would be great to edit a news article to bump it to current, or maybe the reverse

Yes, I agree. It would make things so much easier if I could edit a post's date.

I would also like to be able to edit a post date in order to "bump" a news article to a current date (so it is included in the weekly email blast), rather than having to re-post the article.
