Community Small Business Directory
Ken McArdle
Is there a way we can let all the people in our community with small businesses add their small business to a Business Directory Page. It could have the business name, contact information, description and even a few pictures linked? Especially now with covid it can help small businesses in our community. It could also bring neighbors together. It would be a great way to get Block Parties started on the future.

Is it possible to categorize the classifieds? We are using it for recommended contractors. It would be helpful to be able to categorize by type of service; e.g., tree service, pet sitter, painters, etc.

Toni Hullstrung: We have a separate post open for grouping classified listings! I see you've already added your vote to that post. However, if you'd like to also add a comment with more information about how you want to group them, that will help our team in considering how this could be implemented.
You can view that feature request here: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/group-classifieds.

Meredith Owens: Thanks! Looks like John Middleton responded with "By type of service, i.e. plumber, electrician, etc." which is basically what I was requesting.

I tried to use the "Useful Contact Information" page, however, it didn't work because I have more information I need to add to that page.
I need more contact spaces for email, Facebook, Instagram, easy you don't have to remake it just give opinions to add more contact info. Address, want to see resident lives in the community. A comment space to give info information about their business plus discounts for their neighbors. This page could be used also for businesses that support our community.
Just need to have the option to add more info in the area and a comment option.
HOA EXPRESS- if you look at my page under BOBR 2021 you will see why I need more spaces and businesses that support us.

Check out our Classified Ads page/commercial at woodbrookhoa.com to see how we handle ads. It could work for your idea as well.
Jim Stolarski
Larry Larke: Thanks, Larry. Very much appreciate the tip!

I sent out 2 eblasts last night and no-one including trial email sent out. none were opened .

Ken McArdle: This was an issue our product team became aware of and resolved yesterday. As of now, those unsent or delayed messages should’ve been sent out. You can read more about this in our incident report here: https://status.hoa-express.com/incidents/df31f024290f.

We use a classified ads page which has a number of positive features. It’s needs to be sortable by classification and more importantly would really be robust if it could include an “Angie’s List” sort of rating / reviews capability.
Larry Larke
Jim Stolarski: we sort by classification and hyperlink to Yelp to encourage reviews. See woodbrookhoa.com Classified Ads / Commercial.

We use the useful contacts page type for this, but it would be even better to let members add their own listings
Meredith Owens
Michael Rudy: If you'd like members to add a listing, the "Classifieds" page could be a good option in the meantime. Here, your members can create a listing and tag the post as a "Local business."

We use a 'approved vendors' page that we manage

This world be great. We do this in our printed directory and it would be great to have online as well.
Meredith Owens
Ken McArdle: We're open to considering this as a new page type on our service. In the meantime, if you'd like to create a page for this purpose, we recommend using the "Classifieds" page type. Here, your members can add the information you mentioned and tag their post as a "Local business."

Meredith Owens: Our community is voting on it as we speak. So far 90% want it. Any suggestions or cautions are welcome. We plan to prohibit meds / drug sales, sexual business related companies or any business that sends the wrong message to our children. Thanks
Meredith Owens
Ken McArdle: Sounds good! As an administrator, if someone posts a business that doesn't align with what you'd like included here, you can remove it from the page.
Ken McArdle
Meredith Owens: Great :) Thanks Meredith :)
