Choose which account types appear in resident directory
Wes Cossick
So that the resident directory only includes residents (as its name implies) allow admins to pick-and-choose which account types should be included on the resident directory page. This would allow admins to prevent account types like "property manager" or "prospective resident" from being listed as if they were residents.
Currently, every account type is shown in the resident directory.

It would be nice if owners (members) could have the option to add their children's names to the directory and only have it seen by the Admins not anyone with access to the directory (as in, other members). Then, if someone's child is lost or hurt - an Admin can be contacted to help find/ contact the parents.
The way it is currently set up, if a child's name is added when registering, they are seen by every member which most of our member parents are uncomfortable with. Is there a way to make it optional to hide that information in the future to all but the admins?

Sandi Ebben: Having the privacy preference to hide specially-designated members from the "Resident Directory" page would be a separate request from the above post.
For our team to consider this, would you please create a new post for this on our "Feature requests" board at the following link? https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests

We would like to be able to filter homeowners and lot owners.

Could you explain why account types are not considered public info? At the very least there should be an administrator option to include them as headers for the grouping of accounts in the account view.
Meredith Owens
Mark Pinis: This isn't treated as public information, not because it's private or sensitive. Rather, the only place we’d show that information to other members would be on the "Resident Directory" page. This page already contains a lot of information, so we’ve chosen not to display the account type among other details to help prevent entries from being too cluttered.
While we could've shown every piece of information available, for design reasons, we’ve tried to trim it down to the more useful details. The account type is visible to administrators with the "members" privilege from the "Members" section in the Admin Control Panel, though.

According to our legislation in Ontario, owners have a right to know the name and unit number of owners (not their email or phone numbers, although they may offer those freely if they wish). The reason for this is so that owners can identify other owners that they can approach if they are planning to submit a requisition for a Meeting of Owners in order to force the Board to divulge information to which owners have a right, or so they can call for a vote on issues like contentious rules. Being able to filter their view of the Resident Directory to just owners essentially facilitates democracy.

There needs to be some way to filter who is in the resident directory. We have long term renters who need access to some of the information on the website but we do not want them to be on the resident directory.

Merged in a post:
Account types in directory
Thomas Sbarra
do you think it is possible to add information to the directory that says what category that member is in? i.e. owner, renter, guest, child of owner, etc.
it is confusing to members when they see a non member's name in the directory and think I have let someone in who should not be. thanks, tom

Thomas Sbarra: We're currently looking into a feature that would allow admins to filter the directory to only certain account types. It sounds like that feature would meet your need, so we'll be merging these two posts. You can view that request here: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/choose-which-account-types-appear-in-resident-directory.

I would be better to set a filter by account type at the top of the page to quickly list different types of accounts.
Meredith Owens
William Nisley: Account types are not something we currently treat as public information. Therefore, we're not considering adding this capability to the "Resident Directory" page. However, if you visit the "Account view" in the "Members" section, all accounts are currently sorted by account type.
