Activity log entries for What's Happening emails
Diane Barrett
Before the latest update, the Weekly and Monthly What's Happening emails appeared in the Activity Log, showing the number of emails that were sent. Can you bring that back?

Hey Wes. I just realized I was talking about the WRONG page. It's the Communications page that we need the What's Happening emails added back to. Sorry about that. I think you can close this item and add another item (if one doesn't exist yet) to get What's Happening emails added back to Communications page.
Thank you.

Margaret Ann Ingram: Since each member recieves an individualized What's Happening email, it wouldn't be practical to list each of those emails in the "Communications" section. Therefore, we don't have plans to display What's Happening emails in the "Communication" section.

Meredith Owens: Hi Meredith. I meant to add one line for the What's Happening email on the Communication page with Detail button that is currently done for each communication. Then when you click on the Detail button a page displays with a Detailed Send Log that lists all the residents that received the email. That is currently being done for all communications, so just wanted to add the What's Happening email back to that page so we can check on email deliveries. I have fixed some emails already with the email editor too so that is a cool feature. Thank you. Michael Simpson

Margaret Ann Ingram: Thank you for taking the time to clarify this. We’ve considered this request, and I’m afraid, due to the substantial conceptual differences between What’s Happening emails and other communications sent from the website, we do not have plans to implement this request. I’ve provided more information about this decision below.
First, What’s Happening emails are system-generated and fully automated. They work exactly as designed without any known bugs, therefore publishing who it was sent to wouldn’t have much meaningful value for admins. Rather, if you know an email wasn’t received by a member, the best course of action would be to reach out to our customer success team for further assistance.
Additionally, since the What’s Happening emails are delivered as often as weekly, this could clutter the list of communications for most communities. Therefore, adding this wouldn't correlate with our design philosophy of providing clutter-free websites.

Hi Wes. Thanks for the information. I thought I could view the entire list of residents the What's Happening email was sent when I opened it. If not, then we need to find a way to see who is getting the What's Happening emails. For instance, a resident called me yesterday and said they were not receiving them. I had NO way of finding out who was receiving them. I believe they could update the Activity Log to do this because it works for other emails. Please have someone look into it.
Thank you for your support and time.

Margaret Ann Ingram: Listing who received the What's Happening emails wouldn't provide the information for why some of the members are not receiving them. Therefore, if you receive reports from your members that they didn't receive an email, we recommend you reach out to our customer success team about this. They have tools available to them that allow them to diagnose why those members did not receive the email.

Another reason this feature should be reinstated is because it allows administrators the ability to see who is receiving the email, and if there is a problem with their email address.

Margaret Ann Ingram: Heads up, this particular feature request wouldn't accomplish this. It would simply add back what used to be included in the activity log, which was something along the lines of "A What's Happening email was sent to X members."
