Nah, too many file types gets too complicated for some folks and pdf works for everyone

Unnecessary. PDF's should suffice. an admin can always insert a link to a document that can be opened by a particular application or app.

Mike_Treasurer Darrish: Why should your limitations be imposed on others?

Phil Wright: I was asked to vote. I did. Too bad if you don't like it. Who says I have limitations, anyway?

PDF is fine for posting finished documents. If it's to specific, complicated or requiring additional software...you'll lose people.

Allow all Open Office file types: .odt, .ods, .odp, & .odg
Really no reason to not allow common file types.

One advantage of having everything converted to pdf is that anyone can view the file without special software. I can perhaps see a use case for specialized file types if this is for a small group with specialized needs, who all have copies of the relevant software, although this is not really a group collaboration platform, more a place to post finished work.

John Howard: We posted PDFs of our deed restrictions, some in scanned image format but with the passage of time, we lost the original Docs. So someone tried to retype everything at a considerable expenditure of time. I've now created a page for the original file formats of our docs available only to Board Members. No one owns Visio now but our old Visio drawings can be opened with Inkscape.

Doug Vogt: I was a great fan of Visio years ago at work. Now I use Grapholite, but its not on the Mac, so I've switched to draw.io (aka diagrams.net). It's always painful to give up the tools you love...😢

Object Visual Applic. Language: It's OK, but I think, there are not too many people using it.

Open Office? Do people still use this when Word is available at no cost? Why not convert the .odg file to a PDF for the website?
Doug Vogt
Kevin Adler: Didn't know Word is free. Google says $139 or $6.99 per month subscription. A number of people use Libre Office as it's a MS Office clone but free. Libre Office has a draw program that reads and edits PDFs. Normally I use MS Office Pro. but it's over $200.

Doug Vogt: there are free versions in a browser to support basic document needs, yes:
