If the portion of a news article shown on the homepage includes a link, the link is displayed as text. It should display as a link.

I'm afraid we're not considering including hyperlinked text in the "News" feature on the homepage. If we included links, we’d also have to include other types of formatting, like bold, italics, tables, images, etc. This presents the following two problems:
- If some formatting was cut off partway through, it could bleed into the rest of the page.
- Elements like tables, images, headers, etc. wouldn’t look appropriate in the preview snippet.
For these reasons, news article preview snippets won't include any formatting in the text.
Instead, if it's especially important to have a link on the homepage, we recommend adding it directly to the homepage text by clicking on the blue "Edit text" button.

Links should be enabled EVERYWHERE. We just had a request to create a page with a PDF for guest instructions with a link to a local resources for guests. I'm pleased that links in PDFs work, but we should be able to mix and match text, documents (PDFs) and links in one page.
One of our website committee members points to Notion as a tool that provides this type of capability.

Nolan Madson: To clarify, you can add links on every page type! On most pages, you'll be able to add this to the page text by clicking on the blue "Edit text" button.

This would really be helpful. In addition to be able to put internal site links within communication articles. For example when references board meeting minutes it would be helpful to insert a link and to be able to come back to the communications.
