Merge duplicate forum posts

It would make it neater if Admins could combine duplicate forum posts. We have several posts about the same subjects in our forum and its getting harder to wade through it all.

Just like posts here can be moved from one thread to another by the admin, I'd like the ability to do the same. Just today, I have two completely different threads going where people are discussing the budget. I'd love to be able to merge these, and I've tried to steer people toward the original, but it's a lost cause.

Richard Gunther: To clarify, are you requesting to be able to merge forum posts on the same page?
Richard Gunther
Meredith Owens: Ahh...good clarification! No, to move from one discussion to another and close out the duplicate thread/topic.
Meredith Owens
Richard Gunther: Are both of these topics on the same "Forum" page?
Richard Gunther
Meredith Owens: Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, we only have one forum with multiple discussions (which I was referring to as topics or threads). That's probably why I was confused. But I imagine if a community separated conversation types by forums, being able to move or merge into any topic on any page would also be useful.

Richard Gunther: I can see how merging two duplicate topics within a "Forum" page would be beneficial. We have another post open with this request, so I'll go ahead and merge these into one!
Richard Gunther
Meredith Owens: Yep...just like that! 😉

What is ironic is within this Feature Request forum, HOA-express admins can do just that: combine repetitive forum posts into one main one! If only there was a way to pass that feature on to the customers! ;-)

Chad Allen: Our feedback portal is provided through Canny, a feedback management tool. With this software, we do have the ability to merge related posts into one.
We can certainly see the benefits this capability could have on our interface's "Forum" page. Therefore, we're keeping this post open to gather more feedback from users of our platform.
